Marae Protocol
Those of you that have not been on a marae before, there are clear protocols (ways of doing things) when you visit. In this part of our unit we will be asking questions and researching the answers. In our brainstorm we came up with:
- Who calls us onto a marae?
- What are the rules?
- Why do we go to a marae?
- What is a powhiri?
- What happens when we go to the marae?
Post a comment asking any other questions you may have.
Your challenge is:
- In your reading book, record your questions and key words for research purposes.
- Write unknown words in your reading glossary.
- Choose how you want to present your learning. You will need to plan your presentation.
