If you write plus signs between each of the digit1 to 9, this is what you get:  1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 + 8 + 9 = 45

However, if you alter where the plus signs go, you could also get:

12 + 3 + 45 + 6 + 7 + 8 + 9 = 90

Can you put plus signs in so this is true?
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 = 99

How many ways can you do it?

Room 11 went for a tramp over 3 days. On the first day they tramped 12 km in the morning before they stopped at a waterhole for lunch. They spent 1 1/2 hours eating their lunch and having a swim. After lunch they tramped another 15 km to reach the hut they were to spend the night. It took them 25 minutes to travel 1 km on the first day and 35 minutes on the second day.

How long did it take them to reach the waterhole on the first day?

How long did it take them to reach the waterhole on the second day?

How many km did they travel over the 2 days?
